Our life together

"Church is not a meeting or an event we go to; church is a community we're becoming."

Grace Ann Arbor Church is a worshipping community that together is becoming more like Jesus. We are an eclectic group of young professionals, families, children, singles, and students that gather together every week in a large retrofitted warehouse to listen and respond to the story of God setting things right through Jesus Christ (i.e., the gospel).* But our participation in God's larger story is not meant to end on Sundays when we leave the building. Rather, it flows over to the rest of our lives – our work, our relationships, our finances, our goals, our motives, and our response to the brokenness in our lives, our city, and our world.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey – whether you're skeptical or mildly curious about Christianity, or whether you're already a follower of Jesus Christ – we invite you to join us in this life together at Grace!

* The gospel is the announcement that in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, God has fulfilled the ancient promise to begin renewing all creation to Himself.

what to expect

Every week, there are people like you who are checking out Grace Ann Arbor for the first time. So we'd like to answer a few questions you might have as you decide to be our guest this Sunday.

What should I wear?

Most people wear something casual, so feel free to dress in clothes that are comfortable for you. God is more interested in your heart than your appearance.

What is it like & how long does it last?

We gather together for about 60-70 minutes as we experience God's grace and extend His love in ways that Christians have for thousands of years. While each week is unique in its theme, emphasis and mood, we try to maintain the balanced tension between singing the latest worship songs and old traditional hymns, teaching God's truth with an appreciation for its historical context and sensitivity to its current application, responding in both quiet reflection and joyful celebration.

Will I be singled out in any way?

Absolutely not! But we seek to be a people who share life together, so we hope you meet people who will become a part of your life as you become a part of theirs, regardless of where you stand with God. We provide time and space for relationships to form before, during, and after each worship gathering.

What about my kids?

GraceKids, our children's ministry, is available for children ages 0-11. When you arrive, stop by the GraceKids check-in table (see facilities map below) and someone will help you check your kid(s) into their classrooms and meet their teacher. Your kids are welcome to stay with you in the auditorium, but most kids have a lot of fun and really learn a lot about Jesus in their classrooms. We also make it a priority to see that your kids will be safe and well cared for by highly trained volunteers. After the worship gathering, you can pick up your kid(s) in their classrooms. Then we hope you stick around, and continue meeting other people who will become a part of your life as you become a part of theirs.

We'd love to hear from you if you have any questions that we could help answer! Please email us at office@graceannarbor.com and someone will respond to you within 24 hours.
