Ted and Eunice John, members of Grace Church since 2013, are preparing to serve in Kibuye, Burundi as medical missionaries with World Medical Mission's Post-Residency Program. World Medical Mission is the medical arm of Samaritan's Purse. There, Ted will serve the surgical needs of the people of Burundi under the mentorship of a veteran missionary surgeon, and Eunice and their kids will serve in the community. Their term with WMM is two years, in addition to six to eight months of formal language studies in Albertville, France.
The John's are originally from Southern California and have since moved back to be near family as they prepare to transition overseas. Ted spent nearly a decade in Ann Arbor, starting with medical school at the University of Michigan. In June he completed a general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Eunice taught middle school math in Grosse Pointe Woods during her time in Michigan and is currently a stay-at-home mom to Toby, 22 months. The John's are expecting their second son in December. At Grace, Eunice and Ted were active with GraceKids and served on the Meal Ministry team.
There are two ways you can help the John's. First, you can commit to praying for them by joining their prayer team. There's nothing they need more than to be covered in prayer. Second, you can partner with them through financial support. Whether it is a one-time gift or monthly support, it will be through your giving that they are able to begin the work in Burundi they have been called for.
