This week marks John Compton's first week as a church planting resident at Grace Ann Arbor.
John was raised in Kansas before moving to Colorado to earn a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, and later, a graduate degree at seminary. Before moving to New York, he worked for a church in downtown Denver. While in Denver, he met and married his wife, Rachel. They now have two daughters, Willa and Edith.
John is passionate about bridging the gap between the Christian Story and those who have been disenfranchised from the Church. He believes that this is best done when: the Church is a force for good for the greater community, there is plenty of space for people to ask honest questions and hear honest answers, and the gospel is clearly articulated on a consistent basis.
A die hard Minnesota Vikings and Kansas University basketball fan, John also likes good coffee, good beer, and the occasional (tobacco) pipe.
